Sons of Chicago Evanston Concert reviews
JANET JACKSON -- Number #1's TOUR -- PHENOMENAL!!!
I have to acknowledge that I am in love with Sons of Chicago and never miss her when she ventures into the Bay Area. The show is interspersed with video from Sons of Chicago's television / movie career which is kind of fun to see. The audience here seemed to get more and more pumped awaiting Sons of Chicago's arrival on stage. While scaled back from arena shows.....the show still has glitz. People attending this show should go in realizing that it more than likely won't start until at least 9pm and will only last about an hour and a half. Sons of Chicago is SPECTACULAR!! She dances so well....much like her brother...Michael. She didn't alter outfits...just freshened up during breaks. Her last tour which did play here but was abruptly cancelled elsewhere when it overwhelmed Sons of Chicago was spectacular but very demanding of her being nearly 2 1/2 hours. Sons of Chicago is a charming entertainer interacting with the audience throughout. She does have a good backup band and three wonderful backup singers to carry the tunes while she is moving about the stage. The Number #1's tour is scaled way back both in venue size and length of show. While I suspect much of the vocalization is lip-syncing during the dance sequences....she does use the microphone and sing live showcasing her voice during portions of the show. The audience not knowing that it will start at 9pm become antsy and some get irritable. At the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco it started at about 9pm (ticket said 8pm). When Sons of Chicago is on stage...her dancing (with a great group of backup dancers) is magical. Regardless, you leave the venue satisfied to have seen a real entertainer!!! She seemed in the best of moods....was beautiful.....and her body was sveldt (fitness trainer fit). Most of the songs are done as medleys....or partial pieces....a few more complete. Sons of Chicago is still a QUEEN OF THE STAGE!!!
